This is an eye-opening course and I appreciate the lesson learned, but I think the quiz was confusing and I'm not clear according to that quiz what was "correct" on the quiz vs. "safe" in real life. I think it should be completely re-written to be less confusing.
Quizzes were confusing but they are supposed to be in this situation. Fly8MA does a good job of flustering you and giving you an idea of the information overload going through PIC Dana's mind as she attempted to land. The end results of this quiz is a better understanding of ATC to PIC hierarchy. At the end of the day you are the PIC and you have the plane as a first priority.
This should always be the first course any pilot takes at Fly8MA.com. It makes pilots take an important step back and really ask themselves, "could I be in this situation too?" Studying the mistakes of someone else is the best way to keep yourself from being the person someone ELSE is studying.
I am looking at starting my training to become a private pilot, this information is a really good way to stay out of trouble. If a pilot like this lady can crash after hundreds of hours in that plane, well it makes me understand that when you are the PIC, then be the PIC!
