Walrus Viewing
The only thing more unique than seeing 1,000lb Grizzly Bears attack salmon is seeing a Walrus haul out on the beach in western Alaska. Seeing these creatures is rare, as they are endangered and constantly moving. Flying out to see these amazing animals takes 2-3 days, may involve tent camping, and it is not a guarantee that they will be viewable by land or by air. This usually involves 8-10 hours of flying in a bush plane to reach their remote haulouts.
Beach Hike
Fly over glaciers and go for a walk on the beach. You might find even more than just sea shells!
4-6 hours total, 3 hours of flying. Optional activities on the beach include paddle boarding, surfing, beach combing, and hiking.
Fishing
Sooo Many options here. Deep sea fishing for Halibut and cod, trolling for Salmon, River and Beach fishing for Salmon, or ice fishing in the winter for trout. Depending on what fish you'd like in your freezer will determine what time of year and where you will want to fish. Contact us so we can help set you up with the best charter for your palate!
Bear Viewing
May to September there are opportunities to see both Black and Brown Bears (Grizzlies) in Alaska. Options include flying to land on a beach in a bush plane at a National Park to see the bears from the ground, or flying over streams and rivers where they are feeding on salmon.
GUEST FAVORITE (guests often tell us this is the absolute highlight of their Alaskan vacation).
5-7 hours total. 3-4 hours of flying.
Hunting

ON THE PROPERTY
Ski and Hiking Trails
Some of the activities available right on the property at the Lodge include cross-country skiing and hiking trails. Along these trails keep your eye out for wild blue berries, cranberries, and raspberries in the late summer and fall. In the winter and early spring, look for "moose sheds" where moose have shed their massive antlers and they may be laying just off the side of the trail.
Frisbee Golf (Disc Golf)
While recovering from long hikes and epic days of sightseeing and fishing, take a stroll around the Lodge and play a round of Disc Golf! Maybe even enjoy a smooth Alaskan Amber or Alaska Brewing IPA while you're at it!
Wildlife Viewing
Right here on the Lodge property we have three resident moose (a Cow and two calves), as well as many transient moose that like to stroll down the runway when they get tired of walking through the trees. Keep an eye out for them in the early morning and evenings. You'll also see foxes, many types of birds, and maybe even a wolf!
Winter Activities
Dog Sledding
There are several options for this just a short drive from the Lodge. Tours range from just 45mins to several hours depending on what you are looking for.
Cross Country Skiing
We have about 2 miles of trails right here at the lodge, as well as access here in the valley to many miles of groomed trails at both Hatcher's Pass and Government Peak parks.
Ice Fishing
There are also several options for this just a short drive from the Lodge. Fishing expeditions range from just a few hours to all day depending on what your goals are.
Aurora Photography
Whether staying at the Lodge to experience the Aurora or wanting to capture that epic shot of the northern lights over Denali. Staying here at the lodge gives you quick access to great dark spots to go to for Aurora viewing and photography. If you're a beginner to photography you can even take a tour with a guide who will help you set up your camera for the perfect shot.
Snow Machine Tour
The Lodge lies in the heart of many miles of amazing snow machine trails, both groomed and backcountry. Options include renting machines and having them delivered to the lodge or taking a short drive to Hatcher's Pass to do a guided snow machine tour.
Ice Skating
The same beautiful glacier lakes we kayak and paddle on in the summer are wonderful for ice skating and even ice climbing on the icebergs in the winter. Just a short flight from the Lodge, the experience of ice skating right up to a glacier is like none other.
