Standing over 75ft tall, the Geo-dome "Control Tower" has tinted reflective glass up to 6ft tall for privacy, with clear triple pane glass in the rest of the dome to allow for the most spectacular views of the Aurora (Northern Lights).

An Elevated Experience

The Dome is complete with a King sized bed, mini-bar, sofa, lounge chair, and working desk for an office view that is second to none.

Construction Updates

Construction on the tower began in September 2023. We currently have the dome being custom built in a factory before being shipped via barge from Seattle to our site here in Big Lake. Our platform is completed, stairs, electrical, etc. all ready and waiting the arrival of all 98 beautiful glass windows.

Construction is scheduled to be completed June 2025.

Give up something. To get something.. I am not wealthy... But I wanted to stay in this plane on my Alaska adventure, for my 50th state! I felt it was very symbolic for travel.. I can't say enough good things about this property... The massage chair was much needed after a hike... The views brought me a rainbow... The northern lights popped out To say hello... I went into town to get food from Basil Ginger For takeout... I ate it on the duck with the wonderful fire pit.... John was very responsive.... And the extra touches we're amazing.. Just do it!!!!! Staying at Joe's airplane Airbnb was an incredible experience! The airplane itself is situated right on a small runway that occasionally sees small bush planes, making it a dream for aviation enthusiasts. Even if you're not particularly into aviation, the stay is well worth it. The place was clean, comfortable, and truly unique. Joe went above and beyond to make our stay special—he even brought us a bottle of wine after we had a flight delay, which really helped to turn things around. I would absolutely recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind stay with beautiful veiws of the Alaska mountains Whether you're into aviation or just looking for something different, this is a great choice.

Absolutely the best stay! It’s fun, functional, homey, comfortable, and private. Getting to stay in a repurposed plane on a private airstrip but yet having plenty of home comforts. Watching planes land and take off is added show we were able to watch

Booked last minute when our plans for the day changed. Jon’s place was a fantastic spot to have a relaxing afternoon and evening with our family. It was clean and had all the amenities we could want.
